It’s National Palliative Care week and this week I am offering you a series of short videos (all are approx 5 mins or less) around Loved One’s Regrets and providing some suggestions and steps you can do to hopefully avoid having these experiences.
They are in no particular order and the next one is “I wish I’d told them I loved them”.
This one is just heartbreaking and we hear it all too often.
It is said that hearing is the last sense to leave the body as we leave this physical world and I totally believe this to be true. On that basis, I would encourage you to tell your loved one that you love them, even if they are unconscious and/or unresponsive. Tell them how you feel, let them know how much you appreciate their presence in your life.
If you are not able to be physically present with your loved one, you can connect with them on an energetic level. Simply go into your heart space, connect into that part of you and just hold your loved one in your heart, sending them pure and unconditional love. I absolutely believe that it is possible to connect with another person in this way – I have done so remotely on numerous occasions for clients who are dying and also their loved ones.
This process can also be used if your loved one has already died and you didn’t get to tell them you loved them. You can also write them a letter saying all that you wanted to say.
Take the time, make the effort, either in person or on an energetic level and tell your loved one just how much you love them.
Peace & blessings, Sharon
