Carrie Fisher

At age 60, Carrie Fisher was on a plane flight when she had a heart attack.  She was then in intensive care for 4 days, placed on a ventilator and then subsequently died.

Christopher Reeve aka Superman

At age 45, Christopher Reeve was taking part in an equestrian event when he was thrown from his horse.    It was 5 full days before he regained consciousness & realised he was a quadriplegic.

Candice Bergen

At age 60, Candice Bergen had a stroke.

Molly Meldrum

At age 68, Molly Meldrum fell off a ladder & suffered multiple injuries that required various levels of medical sedation for almost a month.  For the first 12 days he was in intensive care.

Maria Venuti

At age 75, Maria Venuti suffered a stroke & was placed in an induced coma.

Michael Schumacher

At age 44, Michael Schumacher was skiing with his 14yo son when he fell, hit his head & sustained a head injury.  He was placed in a medically induced coma for over 3 months.

Accidents and illnesses can unexpectedly happen.

If something were to happen to you:

• Is the legal document in place detailing your medical wishes?
• Is the legal document in place authorising someone to speak on your behalf?
• Would those closest to you know your wishes?
• Would those closest to honour your wishes?
• Would those closest to you jump up & down & make some noise if your wishes weren’t being honoured?

If you can’t answer a resounding YES to those questions, you need to do something about it.
